Royal National Lifeboat Institution
Littlehampton

Littlehampton has two lifeboats, an Atlantic 75 ‘Blue Peter 1', and a D-Class inshore lifeboat ‘Spirit of Juniper'. Both live in their shiny new boathouse, and are launched by tractor from the slipway at Fisherman's Quay.

The crew exercise every Sunday morning and on alternate Thursday evenings, so Sundays are the best day to visit the boathouse if you want to see our lifeboats. If you would like to arrange a party visit, please go to our contacts page for details.

The lifeboats are described in detail on the ‘Our Lifeboats' page, and on other pages you can find out what happens when a request for assistance is received. There are also lots of pictures of our boats and our crew.

The contacts page tells you how to get in touch, but please bear in mind that this is a voluntary operation and so the boathouse is only manned if something is happening – please don't be disappointed if you can't contact us straight away. If we're needed to deal with an emergency, phone 999 and ask for the coastguard, and we'll be on our way immediately.

This website represents Littlehampton Lifeboat Station, and our job is to undertake operational duties rather than fundraising. But, as everyone knows, the RNLI is funded entirely by contributions, and our friends in the local fundraising branch would love to hear from you if you want to give them some money. Their details are on the contacts page.

The RNLI website provides detailed information on the lifeboat service.
